Best way to enjoy a plum..

...is on vacation, at the beach (Lake Tahoe), with mommy and daddy.

Here are a few pictures from our Tahoe trip. We stayed in a tiny but cute cabin across the street from a lake-beach. Ruby played in the sand and water every day. We all had fun, lots of family time and the weather was perfect.

More pictures to come soon when I get a chance to upload them from the real camera.

Hanging out at home

Ruby's Second Birthday Party at Lauren's House (Daycare)

The women who run this daycare are so incredibly loving and wonderful, they are real experts with young children. We love them. And Ruby really enjoys spending time here.

They provide a little party with birthday cake and a present for each of the 12 kids who attend. Ruby requested a chocolate cake with Dora on it.

This is the table where all the kids also eat lunch together. As Ruby always says, "Jacob make lunch, FOR EVERYBODY!" (Jacob is the son of the owner, and a trained chef.) That's right, they have fresh home cooked lunch and Mommy doesn't have to pack it.

RUBY'S 2nd BIRTHDAY (Northern California)

Ruby still talks about her birthday party excitedly every day.
"So many people there!"
"Everybody sing happy birthday!"
"Daddy made cupcakes, FOR EVERYBODY!"

Lots of her friends celebrated with us. We had sand toys, chicken tacos, fruit salad, Grandma Linda and Papa Marvin, and so many cupcakes. It was a big day for little Ruby.

p.s. Daddy makes super-delicious cake.
Isaac (with the super curly hair) is Ruby's boyfriend. She is crazy about him. They used to share a nanny. This crush has been going on a long time.

Aurora (in the pink hat) is a frequent play mate, as are Niko (in the baseball cap), Holly and Chloe (sitting on the blanket), and Augie and Clara (sister and brother sitting on the picnic table).

And it was great to see other close friends that we don't get to see as often.

At the end, Niko didn't want to leave. He wanted to take a nap in the sandbox. His mommy (Anne) worked hard to lure him away.

Silliness!

Ruby is delightfully playful lately. She always wants to play games and joke around.

Even shampoos have become tolerable for her, as long as "hand" gets super soapy and sings her a song that way.

The other day just before putting her to bed I told her (as I usually do) that I love her very much. This time she turned to me and said
"Sing it, mommy".

By the way, in the peekaboo video you can see Ruby's big booboo on her nose and forehead. She got that today falling into a cement step while playing at the park, wouldn't you know it, right before her birthday party this weekend. Poor sweetie-pie.

Thankfully the park we were playing in has an office with ice packs and a distracting fish tank and mouse terrarium.

She recovered nicely after lunch, treats and a long nap.

Sliding Down Stairs and Piggy Back Rides

So much playing! Ruby slid down the stairs at cousin Steven's party and then showed Uncle Amos how she does a piggy back ride at our house.
