Here is a better group picture.

Late night shuffleboard game continued in the hallway...

Fun with cousins at a frozen yogurt shop...

Sharing an ice cream bar with Thuy and Amos...

Ruby saw Mommy's family at the beach for a few days. Daddy couldn't make it this time because it was during the week. But there were lots of opportunities to play with grandma Gloria, cousins, aunts and uncles, and to play in the sand. Ruby loves to play in wet sand.

Ruby discovered shuffleboard, had pancakes and scrambled eggs a few times in a row for breakfast, and really enjoyed playing with all her relatives.

We also liked meeting Barney's new girlfriend Michelle and her three girls Makenzie (13), Tess (10) and Sophia(8). We look forward to seeing them again in San Francisco if they have time to stop by during their brief tour.

(I have to get a better group picture, there was a smudge on my camera lens right where Barney is. I''ll post a better one soon.)

Ruby Sings!

Twinkle twinkle little star,
how I wonder what you are,
up above the world so high,
like a diamond in the sky.

When the blazing sun has gone,
When he nothing shines upon,
then you show your little light,
twinkle twinkle through the night...

(She knows extended versions of several songs)

Ruby says,
"Ready, Goose?"

"Want some more, Goose?"

We were at Lakeside Park by Lake Merrit, right near our house.

Ruby Reads to Me

Lately Ruby likes to read her books to us. She knows them by heart. (She often quotes them during casual conversations.) Sometimes she even asks us to sit on her lap and listen.

"I want sleep in ball pit."

Going to YMCA!

Ruby loves to play in her sleepsack in the morning. She's gotten really good at walking around in it.

Happy 4th of July!

We explained that it was sort of a birthday party for the United States (actually for the declaration of independence).

We sang 'Happy Birthday United States' and then Ruby got to blow out the candle. She absolutely loved watching fireworks from grandma Linda and grandpa Marvin's backyard deck.

And as Ruby always says, "After sing happy birthday, eat cake!"
