Happy Passover!

We attended a preschooler Seder where Ruby saw a puppet show about the passover story and tried matzah. Her friend Isaac was there. She was VERY excited about that.

Each child had their own Seder plate complete with a paper bone! (Thats nostalgic for Hartstons.) Ruby loved the Matzah and had fun dipping the parsley into the salt water. She wasn't yet willing to try no-nut-charoset. But Isaac was more than happy to eat it for her.

She also looked inside the sanctuary, which she really enjoys doing since her big, fun Purim experience. Passover was at a different synagogue, but she likes looking anyway.

Holly's Birthday!

Holly is the first of Ruby's friends to turn 2! She had a great big party at Studio Grow. The ball pit, doll house and cake were the highlights for Ruby. I loved the kiddie disco room too.

Comforting

Ruby was lovingly ambushed by another 19month old (a friend we haven't seen in a few months) who gave her a big hug, knocking them both to the floor. He was happy to see her but she was not so happy about the greeting. Paul took some pictures of the recovery.

Walking in "mommy's boots"!

Here are a few pictures from the park today too.

Unbelievably, this morning, after a battle to get her dressed, she patted me on the head and said "good job". The picture here in her room was taken moments after that. At least shes giving me some credit for my efforts!

Eating with 2 spoons (and playing at a toy store)

Well, I guess its time to buy Ruby a playhouse. She loved the display models in the store. Maybe when the rain stops we'll get one for the yard.

Ruby is 19 months old today! Her language acquisition is just amazing. She is a master of two word phrases and is trying to put three together.

Her most often used words are:
"Stuck" to get us to open something or to pick her up,

"Mommy's boots",
"Mommy's yogurt!" She uses the possessive "s" and loves to eat the same breakfast as mommy,

"Open, Closed",
"Jo Jo's cats",
"Yummy"
and "Elmosize!" to request her favorite DVD.

She also repeats things we say all the time.

She is having fun experimenting with cruising and walking by herself and is getting the toys she wants at daycare without much help. There are lots of couches and ottomans to cruise around on. (This helps her enjoy playing there much more. Its hard to get her to leave there now!)

Ruby loves to eat yogurt with 2 spoons. And she is quite good at it.

Recent Photos

A few of these I have sent by email already.

Ruby is playing in the stagecoach with her friend Aurora (21 months) and Alex (Aurora's mom). You might recognize them from the pumpkin patch pictures back in October. We've known each other since mom- baby yoga, when Ruby was 4 weeks old.
