Paul's brother Ken and his Partner Eugene hosted a dinner for Rosh Hashanna and Marvin's birthday. Paul's parents flew up to San Francisco for a nice visit that weekend.

Labor Day at Stinson Beach

This was Ruby's first real beach experience, Northern California style. It was windy, the water was cold, and there were tons of people running around on the sand. (Not nearly as many as you see on any given day in Southern California though.) Ruby took a while to warm up to the whole scene, but then she loved it.

First Steps With the Walker

Yesterday (9/6/09)Ruby took some steps without us holding on, just with the walker. We ran to get the camera and she did it again. I think she surprised herself and wanted me to get back behind her. Its a good start though!

Wednesday night is chase the kitties night at Scott and Joanne's, next door

Ruby Has Finally Started to Enjoy Her Baths Again

She had been strongly resisting her baths for a few months. Then I bought a large inflatable duck bathtub that I thought might be more fun. I put it in the kitchen so she could play with it. Ruby was actually so terrified of it she wouldn't go in the kitchen while it was there. We had to put it away in the other bathroom. She still keeps her distance.

But somehow, since the day the big duck showed up, she has relaxed into her bath routine in the old baby tub. She even likes to play in the empty tub with her tub toys sometimes during the day.
