Tree Climbing and Bug Hunting

We were at Jakey's house to hunt for roly poly bugs. Then the kids decided to practice climbing the orange tree. Matt, Jakey's dad, lifted them out of the tree so they didn't have to worry about climbing down. It was very important to both Ruby and Jakey that they each take turns climbing exactly as high as the other one did, so no one was higher. 

Then Matt convinced the kids to load up the wheel barrow with bricks to help him clear the yard. They had a great time lifting the heaviest ones and throwing them in!

Academy of Sciences Museum

Ruby and Mommy took a special trip to the Academy of Sciences Museum. Why not?

Ruby didn't remember it from 2 years ago. She absolutely loved it this time. It was hard to get her out of there, actually.

 "I wish I could live here." 

We spent a lot of time at the aquarium. There was a diver in the big tank. He had a microphone and answered questions. Ruby raised her hand to say that her grandpa has fish too, and to ask which was the diver's favorite one. We saw them feed the fish too. That was a big tank and a lot of food. They said there were 2000 fish (another child asked that question.)

Ruby also loved the rain forest, or as she called it, "Butterfly world". There were tons of butterflies in there. And we had fun walking the winding path up to the top. We ended up having a dinner picnic in the car because we stayed so  long. Thank goodness for the gourmet food trucks outside and for the good snack bag mommy packed. Ruby was so hungry she was delighted to eat yogurt in the car!

Here is a video of mommy pulling kids in a wagon outside Lauren's house, even with a bum foot still in a walking cast! The fun never stops. The kids riding with Ruby are siblings Sadie and Jack. 

Another Big Play Date With Clara

This time we did art projects like melting crayons into heart shapes, and painting and melting sun catchers. We played Hullabaloo, jumped on the couch, played a dancing and musical instrument game, did puzzles, oh my gosh. What didn't we do?

Ruby and Clara go to Little Farm

Besties Ruby and Clara had an all day play date, which included a trip to Little Farm in Tilden park. They ate pears on the way and shared a little picnic on a very sunny table.  They pet a bunny and climbed rocks. And best of all they fed A LOT of celery to the cows and goats, who just loved it. 

Ruby and Clara got along very well. They took turns in the car playing with a pretend microphone and asked mommy to say "beep" at one minute intervals so they could take turns. They made each other laugh saying and singing silly things into the microphone. And they switched car seats at each stop. They also painted beautiful pots and picked out plants from the garden store to put in them.

They also had a strange but very engaging project in the back yard involving kitchen toys, pulled up grass and weeds, all the rags mommy had, the old baby tub, water and mud. They were very good about helping mommy clean that one up.

Trampoline video

Ruby had a great time playing on Uncle David's trampoline after Christmakah breakfast. This video also has  Paul, aunt Thuy and cousins Spencer and Elliot.

Christmakah in LA with family

After our hanukah party we flew to LA to stay with grandma Gloria and we had christmakah with Amos' and Eve's families. Eve threw the egg breakfast and gift opening party. Then we drove to Amos' house for the white elephant gift game and early dinner.
